Jaimasih Everyone,
We have been out here in Nepal again for over a month as we continue in our 2nd semester as Bible College teachers here at CCBC Nepal and missionaries to this Country. We apologize for the late update but this semester has been a whirlwind. Every day of the week is filled to the brim with ministry of all kinds.
Teaching:
We each teach 2 classes that are at 5 different times throughout the week. Brandon teaches Revelation and New Testament Survey and Dane teaches Acts and Apologetics. Dane also teaches Apologetics once a week at another training school for pastors and leaders. We are constantly studying for our classes as they are no small task to teach. Pray that the students would continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord through our classes and be equipped to fulfill the callings the Lord is placing on their lives. Pray that we continue to be diligent in our studies as well as make time to minister to the students and staff on the side.
Discipleship:
You have probably heard us say, but our goal is to not just teach these students or even to just set an example with our lives, but to live the truths of the Bible and the sold-out Christian life with them. We take advantage of every moment to spend time with them and point them to Christ in both the fun and more serious parts of life. We want to do life with them, as the "Christianese" goes. A few examples of this is Tuesday night guys night where we play games and eat food with the guys. Tuesday afternoons we take the two guys we have focused on in one on one discipleship to coffee and talk about how we can better follow Christ with our lives. On Thursday nights we do an informal discipleship with all the guys where we discuss tough issues and spend time encouraging and praying for one another. On Friday nights we do games with all the students. On Sunday we take the students out for a little outing in the city. We try to eat at least 2 meals a day with them and usually spend every night talking and laughing and playing table tennis or Uno. We do life with them haha.
Evangelism/Prayer:
The other main focus we have besides teaching is stirring in these students a heart for prayer and evangelism. We have prayer for the Nations on Monday night where we pick a different Country and give the stats on how reached/unreached they are with the Christian gospel and then labor in prayer on their behalf. On Wednesdays (when we remember haha) we fast and pray through lunch. On Fridays we have an all topic prayer meeting and worship before hanging out and playing games. Oh how we long to see these students see the power and effect of prayer in their ministries and lives. On Wednesdays we go out evangelizing and have a time of training and praying before we go. Oh that these students might catch the fire for reaching the lost that never dies. Pray that this continues as it seems to be happening in great ways.
Other Ministry:
We continue to spend time with the promise girls on a weekly basis. Playing soccer with them on Sunday mornings and bringing ice cream over and giving them a Bible study before or after dinner. Pray these young girls are able to see the love of Christ at a young age and give their life to Him. We also are able to visit the slums and participate in food and supply distribution and preaching the gospel. We look to doing the same in a Leper colony outside the City. Pray we can show the love of Christ through good works that bring glory to His Name.
Thanks for your prayers and for taking the time to read this update. We love you and so greatly treasure the prayers and support. Glory to God! Keep laboring with us in prayer!
